Registered Nurse – ICU Step-Down Float Nurse

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience in ICU or step-down settings.
• ACLS and BLS certification required.
• Experience with telemetry monitoring, ventilator weaning, and post-ICU care.
• Strong ability to transition between ICU and progressive care units as needed.

Duties:

• Care for patients transitioning from ICU to lower acuity units.
• Monitor and assess patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed.
• Float between ICU and step-down units to provide continuity of care.
• Administer IV medications, manage wounds, and monitor post-surgical patients.
• Work closely with respiratory therapists to wean patients off ventilators.
• Educate patients and families on continued recovery and follow-up care.
• Maintain strict compliance with infection control and hospital policies.
